2000 bc - Different Mithos

2000bcWith this title I mean a different way of seeing and reading the myths which speak to us from indestructible millennia, through a visual perspective, simply, different from the ordinary.
This looks very good, for example, here, in Kouroi, where the photo of two statues of children was taken from behind, which we are not accustomed to often do. And thus reveal surprises of niceties in even simple gestures as strong feelings in mouring figures or deluge artworks.

At a time very difficult like this, with many attack to antiquity, who considers blasfema and pointless, I think this kind of exhibition is a sign of continuity of the past, like putting our feet on the naked ground.

What are migrations for me?

migrantesWhich's the pain that people can hold to leave their contries for a new life?
For many years I've collected articles and made scretch of installations and other thisngs to do, but I never started.
But, in 2013, when in Lampedusa happened the shipwrecks I started this project with a brief graphic novel, con queste mani, and since 2013, together with Cantiere Nuovo cultural association and some friends and artist I'm continuing with this theme, always actual, against stupidity...

CONSTELLATIONS

serasini06Do we still need the stars?
With our frenetic life, the sparkling lighting of advertisements, of street lights, do these things really separate us from them?
Will it be as for gods, that when they were forgotten and their cults and rituals were lost in memory and replaced by newer gods?
For Egyptians the Sirio star’s rising introduced the beginning of the River Nile’s annual flood. The North star, a fixed point in the sky, guided the sailors. Nowadays we hardly ever look at the sky, and it’s no longer “present” and as mysterious as once it was.
Only on the mountains or in the desert is it possible to see this big presence.
These are the questions, and the feeling that I try to “activate” with my land art “constellations” project: to redesign in the land some of the major constellations that were so important in ancient times.

THE ANXIETY OF THE MODERN MAN

toroperhome

The modern man that we see nowadays, in this world marked by wars, migrations and anxiety,
he thinks with its own man’s head or instead as an animal?
